About the ceremonies

The UCG graduation ceremonies are the formal highlight of the University Centre’s year when former students are presented with their awards and we welcome guests who have made a significant contribution to the TEC Partnership, locality or advancement of knowledge or enterprise.

If you have been invited to attend your graduation ceremony (subject to the successful completion of your award). Please check the graduation times for the ceremony which corresponds to your course.

You should arrive at the Great Grimsby Town Hall two hours in advance of your ceremony to register and collect your gown. If you are late for your ceremony and registration is closed you will not be allowed to graduate. Registration closes 40 minutes before each ceremony.

On arrival immediately register and you will receive an information sheet with your seat number, please ensure you sit where allocated, otherwise your name will not be called out in the correct order.

Graduands and guests are requested to take their seats no later than 40 minutes prior to the commencement of the ceremony.

The ceremony will last approximately one hour and will be followed by a procession through the Town Centre and a short informal reception for all graduates and guests at the Grimsby Minster.
